Upper Willamette SWCD works with property owners to find funding and create a management plan that improves water, soil, and wildlife habitat.

Education & Outreach

One of the main goals of the UWSWCD is to provide education and outreach to the constituents of the District. The District works to provide updated education by conducting landowner/producer workshops, providing presentations by request, and conducting one-on-one site evaluations to landowners. Outreach is provided through newsletters, printed articles and staffing informational booths at local events.

Financial Assistance

Are you struggling to find the funds to achieve your land management goals? The District may be able to help you find financial assistance if your project will achieve natural resource enhancement or conservation while utilizing Lottery funds.

Technical Assistance

Perhaps you have the funds, but would like guidance on the “who, what, where, when and how’s” of your proposed project. The District staff can help you find the answers and guidance you need to address your natural resource concerns. We also provide assistance in soils identification and interpretation, site assessments and evaluations, general conservation alternatives, development of farm plans, water quality plans and provide education/outreach materials.

Soil Testing

The District's focus is to provide soils testing services for the owners of smaller parcels of land and/or urban gardeners who want to optimize production from their soil. The service includes an analysis of the testing results from the laboratory and soil amendment recommendations by District staff.

Conservation Planning

Your NRCS District Conservationist and the Upper Willamette SWCD Technical Specialist are certified conservation planners who can inventory the natural resources on your land and develop a detailed conservation plan to address your objectives and natural resource concerns. This free service is available to all landowners in Lane County.
