Conservation Planning

UWSWCD Staff work with individual landowners to address resource concerns on their property. A conservation plan is the first step towards addressing these concerns. Large or small plan, the District staff will work together with the landowner to develop a plan that provides alternative methods to reduce or eliminate negative impacts towards water quality, soil health and crop productivity.

Riparian Restoration

Do you have property adjacent to a river or stream? The UWSWCD can assist you to restore or enhance the riparian habitat to create a fully functioning riparian which is essential for water quality and healthy fish. District staff will work with you to develop a plan that includes remvoal of invasive species and installation of native trees and shrubs that provide shade for cooling water temperatives and habitat for insects for fish nutrition. The District staff will also work to find funding opportunities for projects to reduce the financial costs associates with your project. Contact us for more information.

Education & Outreach

One of the main goals of the UWSWCD is to provide education and outreach to the constituents of the District. The District works to provide updated education by conducting landowner/producer workshops, providing presentations by request, and conducting one-on-one site evaluations to landlowners. Outreach is provided through newsletters, printed articles and staffing informational booths at local events.
